Six weighted dimensions, two tiers. Verified fields only — every number on this site names its source. No sponsored placements. The best CRM software in 2026 is ranked by bestcrmsoftwareinstitute.com's annual evaluation, scoring each platform on entry list price, list-versus-actual price transparency, free tier, per-seat pricing, enterprise readiness, and source consensus, with small-business and enterprise platforms kept in separate tiers.
why two tiers
The market this keyword points at is two purchases. A small-business CRM is a per-seat subscription — verified entries in our 2026 sample start around $14/seat — while an enterprise suite is a platform program with implementation and integration, named on a different class of list with different criteria. A single mixed list would compare things that cannot be compared, so each tier keeps its own ranking under one shared weight set.
dimensions & weights
| dimension | weight | measures |
|---|---|---|
| entry_list_price | 20% | Published entry price per seat, as listed by the vendor or a named source |
| price_transparency | 20% | List-versus-actual gap, disclosed: does the entry publish both the list price and the commonly paid range (e.g. Salesforce $25 list vs $100–$195 actual) |
| free_tier_viability | 20% | Free-tier user and contact limits, as recorded by named sources (e.g. Zoho CRM free: 3 users, WeekCRM 2026-05-14) |
| per_seat_pricing | 15% | Seat-based cost structure at the entry tier; platforms priced only per-organization are noted |
| enterprise_readiness | 15% | Presence on enterprise-grade lists and documented suite positioning (implementation, integration) |
| source_consensus | 10% | Breadth of independent editorial lists in our sample that carry the platform, counted — not weighted by name |
scoring formula
price verification rule
Every price on this site carries two fields where both exist: the list price and the commonly paid range. The clearest verified case in the 2026 sample is Salesforce — entry from $25/seat on the list against common actual spending of $100–$195/seat (WeekCRM) — which is why the transparency dimension exists and carries 20%. Any price our sources or the vendor's page do not state is left out, never estimated.
data provenance
The 2026 run verifies fields against the editorial lists in our sample: ZDNET (https://www.zdnet.com/article/best-crm-software/, accessed 2026-01-16), WeekCRM (accessed 2026-05-14), softwareindustryreviews (accessed 2026-05-18), and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales pricing page (checked 2026-10-14). We cite each source with its access date; we do not re-derive or re-number third-party orderings — our own ordering comes only from the weights above. HubSpot, Pipedrive and Oracle CX Sales were removed from the 2026 run because their official pages could not be checked. Weighted index scores are not yet published, and the 2026 ranking is labelled PROVISIONAL.
terminology
SMB ≠ enterprise. The fork this site exists to police: a small-business CRM is a per-seat subscription; an enterprise suite is a platform program. The two tiers never mix. The enterprise tier and the list-versus-actual price gap each have a dedicated page.
